In Loving Memory - of those special people who have been part of Camp Onseyawa
With great regret, we are sad to say good bye to Dawn French, former camper and counselor at Camp Onseyawa. Dawn was a graduate of Waterloo Central School, and earned an associate degree at Tompkins Cortland Community College, Cortland. She was working on her bachelor's degree in criminal justice through the University of Phoenix. Dawn had been a member of the Ovid Volunteer Fire Department, South Seneca Ambulance and an advocate for Safe Harbors of Geneva.
With our deepest sympathies we bid farewell to Cain Bentley a camper at Onseyawa for 2 years. He loved camping, fishing, the Buffalo Bills, baking and his favorite song was Summer Fun by Kid Rock. Cain was a wonderful boy with a great spirit who could make anyone laugh. He will be sadly missed by many. Please keep his family, friends and nurses in your prayers.
With sadness we also regret to report the passing of another member of the Onseyawa family, former counsellor Jolene Uticone, lost her battle with cancer. Jolene was best known for her role as our Handicrafts Counselor for many years. We will miss her and our hearts go out to her family and all those who were close to Jolene.
It is with great sadness and regret that we report the passing of one of the members of our Onseyawa family, former camper, counselor and camp director, Mindy Abraham. Mindy was the personification of the Onseyawa spirit and was an avid advocate for camp and for all people with disabilities. Our hearts go out to her loving husband Tim and of course to her family and friends.
